Gale Garnett is a Canadian singer, actress, and writer who rose to fame in the 1960s with her hit single "We'll Sing in the Sunshine." Born on July 17, 1942 in New Zealand, Garnett moved to Canada with her family at a young age.
In addition to her music career, Garnett has also appeared in several films and television shows, including "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" and "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit." She has also published several books, including the memoir "Visible Amazement" and the novel "Room Tone."
Garnett continues to perform and write, and her music remains popular with fans of folk and pop music from the 1960s. She was inducted into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2019.
